London Heliport · Operator Services Opening Times

London Heliport is a CAA licensed aerodrome (Ordinary Category) as detailed in the UK AIP. It provides a local Air Traffic Service and Category H2 Rescue and Fire Fighting Services with H3 available on Prior notice request.

The Heliport will be closed on the following days:
Monday 25th December 2023
Tuesday 26th December 2023
Monday 1st January 2024

30th, 31st December 2023:
The Heliport will be available for bookings from 07:00 – 22:30. Early extensions before 08:00 will need to be made by 16:30 the previous working day and evening bookings after 16:30 and late extensions will need to be booked by 16:30 on the day.
The usual Weekend and Bank Holiday charges will apply for extensions before 08:00 and 18:00

27th – 29th December 2023:
The Heliport will be available for booking from 07:00 – 22:30. Early extensions will need to be made by 16:30 the previous working day and evening booking after 16:30 or late extensions will need to be booked by 16:30 on the day.
The usual week day charges will apply for extensions before 07:30 and after 19:30.

Tuesday 2nd January 2024 normal operating hours will resume.

  • 07:00 to 23:00 (7 days a week)

  • 07:30 to 19:30 (Monday – Friday)

  • 08:00 to 18:00 (Sat/Sun & Bank Holidays)

Extended operating periods are based on the actual arrival time and departure times.

  • Early extensions: 07.00 – 07.29

  • Evening extensions: 19.30 – 20.59

  • Late extensions: 21.00 – 23.00

Requests for evening or late extensions should be made by 19:30 on the same day (18:00 at weekends). All requests for early extensions should be made by at least 18:00 on the previous day.

Aircraft arriving to park overnight must be on the ground by 22:55 and aircraft looking to depart must be airborne by 22:45. ATC will refuse arrival or departure if these times are exceeded. This is to allow for:

  • Monitoring of departing aircraft in case of any emergency requiring return to the Heliport

  • Sufficient time for ATC to obtain departure clearance for outbound aircraft

Most commercial and military helicopter types are permitted to land at London Heliport, please contact our Operations Team if you have any queries.

The pre-defined “special event days” are typically the busiest days of the year at London Heliport and therefore extremely intensive operationally with increased demand for slots.

Events Include:

  • Cheltenham Gold Cup – Friday

  • Epsom Derby – Saturday

  • Royal Ascot – Tuesday-Saturday

  • Glastonbury/IOW Festivals – Thursday-Sunday

  • Farnborough Trade Days – Monday-Friday

  • British F1 Grand Prix – Saturday-Sunday

  • Goodwood Festival of Speed – Thursday-Sunday
